CleantoGleam Teak Shield is an invisible, water-based protection that shields teak and other hardwood from weathering, mould and stains. It is particularly effective against food and drink spills that can seep into the wood. With a built-in mould and mildew inhibitor, Teak Shield allows moisture to evaporate from the wood, helping to keep the natural patina grey colour of teak and prevent it developing a dirty, dark appearance.

How to use CLEANTOGLEAM Teak Shield

  1. Wear suitable eye protection and rubber gloves
  2. Cover the ground under the working area
  3. Clean teak with CLEANTOGLEAM TEAK CLEANER, following the step by step instructions, to remove natural oils, grease and stains
  4. Feel the wood grain and if it’s rough to touch, sand lightly before treating
  5. Be careful to rub and sand patina grey teak gently to avoid damaging the delicate silver colouring
  6. Shake TEAK SHIELD before use then apply a thin layer to the dust- and dirt-free, dry surface with a clean soft cloth
  7. Wait 1 hour then apply a second thin coat
  8. Keep the teak away from moisture and rain, if possible, for 24 hours to allow to dry thoroughly

Top Tip

Treat your teak one a year with CLEANTOGLEAM TEAK SHIELD  to maintain its attractive appearance. If using the same cloths and brushes for both TEAK SHIELD and TEAK CLEANER, wash thoroughly when switching products to avoid them neutralising each other.
